The American Revolution begins with the Battles of Lexington and Concord which are dramatized in this accurate portrayal. Includes an intermission interview with Historian Mark Nichipor.

If ever one single day has been woven in myth and legend, it is the 19th of April, 1775. From the lanterns of the Old North Church, to the famous midnight ride, these events have taken on a storybook mystique. In actuality, it was far from it. As always, Colonial Radio Theatre On The Air like to tell it as it was. You will find no glossed over legend here. It took more nerve than most of us can imagine to have been holding a musket on that chilly April dawn...or to be riding at break-neck speed in the pitch black of night, knowing full well that mounted patrols were out upon the same road ... looking for you.

"Good characterization and historically accurate; it remains both exciting and fun. This audio presentation has a full cast and music score, with lots of sound effects, engaging your attention and imagination. Battle Road brings history to life for the listener. As with their other dramatizations, the Colonial Radio Players bring to life the events of April 19, 1775. This tape makes the Battle of Lexington and the story of Paul Revere's ride exciting. Kids and adults will love this tape " - Dean Carlisle, All Star Review, 1999

I stumbled upon this program in a gift story at a museum while visiting Boston. I was immediately captivated by how much fun listening to history was when the people at Colonial Radio make a program. Paul Revere's mid-night ride, and the battles at Lexington and Concord really do explode before you. The museum tour guide said that the programs are very authentic and correct historically, so you will actually learn something while listening to good audio theatre. I have since purchased most of their programs and can assure you that Colonial Radio programs are as good as they get. I would have given it 5 stars, but they have since done some other programs that are beyond the very very good that this program is rated. If you like history, or just good drama, you should give this program a listen.
Great Story...

A new fan to Colonial Radio Theatre on the Air, I just recently listened to Battle Road. Although it's one of their earlier recordings, it's still very impressive. The dramatization and music are just wonderful. I would recommend this to anyone, but especially to parent who would like to get their children excited about history. What a great way to bring history to life!

Have you always loved reading but sometimes find it hard to find the time? Theres nothing quite like curling up with a good book but many of us cant do that as much as wed like. We sacrifice this special time because we have so many other things to do each day. Its a common problem and its the reason why people on average are not reading as much as they once did. Audio books bring the story to life just as the storytellers of the past did. They allow you to experience the book in a whole new way; in the way the writer felt and heard it in their head. You can feel the emotion when you allow audio books to let the story come to life.
