'The cleverest, wittiest, best programme in any medium in the story of the world ever'. --- Chris Campling, The Times

'Hello, and Welcome to The Best of News Quiz 2005. As you know, momentous events have been taking place around the globe. Our panel, however, prefer to concentrate on the small, the amusing and the trivial... '

So begins Simon Hoggart's introduction to the most memorable moments on The News Quiz from October 2004 - March 2005. As chairman he attempts to keep order over proceedings in the incredibly popular and topical radio panel game which has been making the headlines since its inception. Hugely successful in its own right, it also provided the inspiration for the television hit Have I Got News For You.

Answering questions, and offering wit and wisdom on global happenings and news both national and parochial, are panellists Alan Coren, Andy Hamilton, Jeremy Hardy, Armando lannucci, Linda Smith and Francis Wheen.

They are joined by guests Chris Addison, Jack Dee, Dave Gorman, Richard Ingrams, Phill Jupitus, Fred MacAulay. Dennis Murray, John Oliver, Eve Pollard, Janet Street Porter, Steve Punt, Jan Ravens, Sandi Toksvig and Jeremy Vine.

Have you always loved reading but sometimes find it hard to find the time? Theres nothing quite like curling up with a good book but many of us cant do that as much as wed like. We sacrifice this special time because we have so many other things to do each day. Its a common problem and its the reason why people on average are not reading as much as they once did. Audio books bring the story to life just as the storytellers of the past did. They allow you to experience the book in a whole new way; in the way the writer felt and heard it in their head. You can feel the emotion when you allow audio books to let the story come to life.
